Sound Recordists

Sound Recordists, also known as Mixers, primarily work to make sound recordings of outstanding quality, free from interference and all unwanted noise. This can be a highly skilled job, with many difficulties to overcome when recording sound; particularly when outdoors. A recordist can work in a variety of locations and environments, and many offer graet skills that can be brought to your production to ensure that you have the exact sound that you are looking for. With a wealth of technology available to them, recordists are necessary for all scale of production.

From recording the spoken word to creating effects, a recordist can turn their hands to a range of tasks. Many spend their days searching for a new source of effect, and these can come from the strangest of sources that we hear everyday but wouldn't think to associated with a sound effect; even the lowly horse sounds created with coconut shells are utlised by sound recordists!
